Erica Ueberroth

Erica Ueberroth began dancing with Civic Dance Center in 1993. She was trained in classical ballet technique by Valerie Lewis, Cindy Trueblood, and Desiree Bogan; and jazz and tap by Marilyn Stone and Kristen McLaughlin. Erica performed in Civic’s annual production of The Nutcracker in roles such as: Little Clara, Snow Queen, Arabian Queen, Spanish Queen, Rose, and Sugar Plum Fairy.
Erica furthered her dance education and training at professional ballet school summer intensive programs. She attended American Ballet Theatre’s satellite summer intensive in Irvine, CA; The Rock School for Dance Education’s summer intensive in Philadelphia, PA; and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s summer intensive. Erica has also had the privilege to dance in master classes with: Leslie Brown, Stephanie Powell, Benjamin Millepied, Joaquin De Luz, and Gelsey Kirkland.
In the fall of 2002, she began teaching for Liberty High School’s dance program. She continued to teach at Liberty and co-direct their annual recital until 2009. She has been on Civic Dance Center faculty since 2002. Erica was asked to co-direct Civic’s annual production of The Nutcracker in 2011. In 2014 she co-directed Civic Dance Center’s annual Gala with Ann Conrad, setting an original work, Once Upon A Time. Erica choreographed A Garden in the Rain (a pas de deux) that was awarded first place senior ballet duo/trio at the 2016 West Coast Dance Explosion Nationals. In the spring of 2019 Erica’s original neoclassical inspired work Beaucoup de Cordes, debuted in Bakersfield City Ballet’s Ethereal Visions.
She has also choreographed pieces for Stars Theatre Restaurant’s productions of Me and My Girl, 42nd Street, and Mary Poppins, and The Ovation Repertory Theatre’s Million Dollar Quartet.
For the last two years she has been working on American Ballet Theatre’s National Teacher Training Certification program and she is currently certified up to Level 5.
In 2009 Erica married the love of her life, Eric Ueberroth. She is grateful to have her husband’s endless support, patience, and love. Erica is a Certified Massage Therapist in private practice since 2005. She received her level one Pilates training certificate in 2015 after studying under Pilates Master Roger Gonzalez Hibner. In her role as Artistic Director for Bakersfield City Ballet, Erica feels a renewed energy and excitement. She believes everyone should have access to the performing arts whether patron or participant, knowing that exposure in any capacity can leave one feeling inspired and awed.
