Hello Civic Families!
Our 2023/2024 season is almost over. This year has gone by so quickly.
We will be closed Saturday, May 25th-Monday, May 27th in observance of Memorial Day weekend.
The last day of regular classes is Thursday, May 30th. If you have a Monday class, your last day will be Monday, May 20th. If you have a Friday class, your last day is Friday, May 24th. If you have a Saturday class, you last day is Saturday, May 18th. Dress rehearsals will begin on Friday, May 31st.
Gala tickets will go on sale this Friday the 10th at 4:00pm. Tickets will be available for purchase on Friday, may 10th 4:00-6:30pm; Saturday, May 11th 10:00am-3:30pm and 4:30-6:00pm; and will continue during regular business hours until June 2nd. The theater has given us a limited number of tickets to be available at the studio. Studio pricing and theater pricing is listed here. We will accept cash, Venmo, or check for ticket sales.

Section CDE Rows AA and up (balcony): Adult $22, Child 6 and under $10 + processing fees
Reminder: There is a Gala parent meeting on Sunday, May 19ths. This is the perfect opportunity for you to get any questions you may have about rehearsals and performances answered. Please see the rehearsal schedule that was previously sent out for more information.
Class attendance is super important these last few weeks. Teachers are putting final touches on dances and costumes will be passed out real soon.
Bakersfield City Ballet is our school’s and Bakersfield’s premier pre-professional ballet company, inspiring and enriching our community with performances and fostering a love for the arts in youth through dance. BCB’s focus is on performing classical and contemporary ballet. BCB contributes to the development of Bakersfield’s rich culture by bringing the beauty of dance to more lives through annual performances. Auditions for season 7 are Saturday, May 18th 10:30am-12:30pm. Pre-registration and more information is available here.
Active Start 1 and Active Start 2 classes will be having their in-studio showcase on their last day of class. Active Start 1 will be May 20th and Active Start 2 will be May 29th.
It’s time to do a costume check. The costumes for ballet classes will be coming home the week of May 13th. Please make sure you have purchased any other costume pieces you may need for other classes or tights and shoes if needed.
