Civic Dance Center is looking to hire a qualified and passionate class accompanist experienced with collaborative accompaniment in ballet and/or other dance disciplines. The accompanist will support dance classes by playing, composing, and/or improvising music for dance classes. The pianist is welcome to bring sheet music to read during accompaniment. Experience with all styles of music is welcome, including Classical, Musical Theater, Pop/Rock, Blues, etc. Applicant should have experience composing and improvising music which has led to a thorough familiarity with accompanying performing artists. Applicants should have experience in providing and maintaining a professional studio and performance atmosphere within the classroom. Applicants should be able to communicate with teaching staff and students in a positive and effective manner. Classes are held in the evening (5-5:30 start time weekdays, 10:30-12 Saturday) and services would be needed for 1-3 hours five or six days a week.
