Tiffany Stark

Tiffany Stark started dancing at the age of 4. Most of her dance training in Bakersfield was under the direction of Cathy Correa at Dancer’s Workshop. She studied ballet, tap and jazz and began teaching at age 16. Tiffany attended Sac State where she majored in Liberal Studies and minored in dance. Tiffany was a member of Sac State’s Xtreme Dance Team, she studied ballet under Nolan T’sani who was a faculty member of the Sacramento Ballet, and enjoyed taking as many dance classes at Sac State that her schedule would allow. She was also given the opportunity to assist, alongside the musical theater director, the intermediate tap class on campus. During her time in Sacramento she had the privilege of teaching different styles of dance at a variety of studios in the Sacramento area as well as being a part of 2 dance companies, Pulse Dance Ensemble and Leaps of Faith. Throughout high school and college, Tiffany also discovered her love for musical theater and performed in several musicals such as Cabaret, Chorus Line and Crazy for You where she performed the leading female role of Polly.

After college, Tiffany moved back to Bakersfield where she taught elementary school for 7 years and started her family. Bill and Tiffany have been married for almost 20 years and their 3 daughters also take classes at Civic. When her first daughter started dancing, Tiffany discovered the adult ballet class offered at Civic and she dove right in! Several years later and 2 more kids, she was honored to be able to perform in her very first Nutcracker as the mother in 2023. Dancing on stage with her girls, Ella, Ginger & Greta, was something she never thought would be a possibility.

Tiffany was thrilled when she was offered a teaching position at Civic. Teaching tap brings her so much joy… the sounds, the creativity, watching and listening to students create music with their feet, and those light bulb moments… kids and adult! Tiffany is so grateful for her tap teacher, Mindy Koerner, for helping to foster her love for tap. And a huge thank you to her husband, Bill, and her girls for their love, support, and understanding that Mama needs to dance!
